Job Title- SharePoint Technical Lead
Location – Jackson MI – Hybrid – USA
Duration : 1 year contract
Executes SharePoint migration batches, applies mappings, preserves metadata and version history, performs delta loads, analyzes migration logs, resolves errors, and reports wave-level status.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and execute SharePoint migration batches according to approved wave plans, source scope, target folder structures, and migration readiness criteria.
- Apply source-to-target mappings for SharePoint libraries, folders, metadata columns, permissions where applicable, and ProjectWise document properties.
- Preserve document version history, authorship, timestamps, and document metadata based on the approved migration design.
- Execute delta/incremental migration runs to support active content changes during cutover and no-freeze periods.
- Analyze migration logs, resolve common errors, document unresolved exceptions, and escalate blockers to the Program Lead and technical SMEs.
- Provide wave-level migration status, file counts, error summaries, and remediation updates to support validation and sign-off.
Skill Requirements
- Hands-on operation of SharePoint-to-ProjectWise (or equivalent) migration tooling, including batch job configuration and monitoring
- Scripting (PowerShell and/or Python) for batch migration, exception handling, and log analysis
- ROT (redundant/obsolete/trivial) cleansing execution — applying rules defined in Design phase to filter content before migration
- Delta/incremental migration techniques for live systems — identifying and migrating only changed content between initial bulk load and cutover, to support the no-freeze requirement
- Metadata mapping execution — applying source-to-target field mapping (SharePoint columns/properties to ProjectWise document properties) at scale
- Version history migration execution — preserving full major/minor version chains and revision authorship per document
- Exception logging and triage — identifying and escalating permission errors, corrupt files, oversized files, or metadata mismatches during migration runs
Experience
5 years hands-on data/content migration execution experience, ideally including SharePoint Online as a source and a non-Microsoft DMS/EDMS as a target.
