- Key Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and clarity
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, formatting, and terminology across documents
- Improve structure, readability, and logical flow without altering the intended meaning
- Identify ambiguities, inconsistencies, and factual or structural issues
- Enforce style guide adherence and maintain high editorial standards
- Flag unclear instructions, weak reasoning, or editorial risks in source material
- Provide thoughtful feedback to enhance overall content quality
- Ideal Qualifications
- 5 years of proven professional experience in copy editing, proofreading, journalism, publishing, technical editing, or a related field
- Exceptional written and grammatical command of English (native or near-native proficiency required)
- Demonstrated history of high-precision editorial work with minimal error rates
- Extremely high attention to detail and ability to catch subtle inconsistencies
- Strong familiarity with style guides (e.g., Chicago, AP, MLA, or equivalent)
- Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent quality standards
- Reliable availability and consistent engagement
