Role Description The Marine Service Technician role is a full-time position in based in the Miami–Fort Lauderdale area, with on-site work at marinas, shipyards, and client locations, and some tasks that can be performed from home. The technician will perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on yachts and other vessels, including mechanical, electrical, and basic cosmetic systems. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting issues in the field, completing service calls, documenting work performed, and coordinating with the service team to ensure timely and accurate job completion. The role involves direct interaction with clients to explain findings, recommend solutions, and provide status updates on service work. The technician is also expected to adhere to safety protocols, maintain tools and equipment, and contribute to a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong Maintenance & Repair and Maintenance skills to perform routine service, corrective repairs, and preventive care on a variety of marine systems.
- Proficient Troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and systems issues efficiently and recommend effective solutions.
- Field Service experience to manage on-site service calls, work independently at marinas and docks, and adapt to changing conditions.
- Customer Service skills to communicate clearly with clients, set expectations, and represent the company professionally on every job.
- Experience with marine systems (engines, propulsion, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and electronics) or strong mechanical aptitude with willingness to learn marine applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders, and to complete accurate service documentation.
- Comfort working in outdoor and marine environments, including confined spaces and varying weather conditions, while following safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites in the Miami–Fort Lauderdale area.
- Relevant technical training, certifications, or coursework in marine technology, diesel engines, or related trades is preferred.
