What You’ll Be Doing:

• Teach swim lessons to kids and adults of all skill levels
• Create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment during every class
• Make sure all safety rules are followed in and around the pool
• Build positive relationships with swimmers and their families
• Set up and put away equipment before and after lessons
• Take the lead during class and keep things organized and running smoothly
• Be a role model and represent the YMCA values every day

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 15 years old
• Positive, energetic, and comfortable leading a group
• Responsible, dependable, and ready to take initiative
• Passion for working with kids and people from all backgrounds
• Able to stay patient, encouraging, and focused

Requirements:

• Current YMCA or American Red Cross certifications:
  • CPR/AED
  • First Aid
  • Oxygen
• Willing to attend trainings and team meetings
• Ability to show up early and be prepared to teach

You’ll know you’re doing great when your swimmers are improving, having fun, and feeling more confident in the water and when families keep coming back because of the experience you create.
