The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Y is a vibrant, community-centered branch where our members come together to learn, grow, and thrive. We’re seeking a dynamic, people-first leader to serve as our Membership Director. What You Bring
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams to deliver exceptional member experiences
- Experience growing membership and retention through relationship-building and engagement
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for creating welcoming environments
- Results-driven with the ability to use data and execute effectively
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 5 years in membership, sales, or customer experience leadership
- Connection to the Bethesda/Chevy Chase community is a plus
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
What you will do at the Y:
- Lead Membership Growth & Community Impact
- Drive membership growth and retention through relationship-based strategies
- Champion cause-driven tours and a listen-first approach to build relationships and deepen engagement
- Build and steward community partnerships and represent the Y through outreach and events
- Collaborate with other branch leaders to strengthen the Y’s role as a community hub
- Create a Welcoming Experience for All
- Foster a culture where every person feels welcomed, valued, and supported
- Connect members to programs and opportunities that support their goals and well-being
- Ensure welcoming and belonging are reflected in all member interactions and experiences
- Lead, Coach, and Inspire Your Team
- Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing membership team
- Partner with branch leadership to implement priorities and improve the member experience
