Cook-YMCA Camp Cosby

1. Work with Food Service Supervisor to train Food Service Workers.
2. Safe food preparation, cleaning and cutting as required.
3. Cook, fry, boil, broil, roast, BBQ, steam meat, poultry, and or vegetables.
4. Supervise kitchen staff, cooking, cleanliness, and scheduling of personnel in Food Service Supervisor's absence.
5. Wash dishes, glasses and silverware by hand or machine.
6. Sweep and mop kitchen and dining hall.
7. Take out trash from kitchen and dining hall to dumpster.
8. Wash pots and pans, as needed.
9. Clean spillage in kitchen or dining hall.
10. Help in any area of kitchen, dining hall or camp as requested.
11. Attends all staff meetings, required training sessions and special events.
12. Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

4. Ability and willingness to obtain food handlers certification.
5. Ability to learn to do tasks as assigned.

8. Enthusiasm, patience, and self-control.
9. Current Food Handler or Serve Safe Certification.
10. Successful completion of background screening.
11. Acquire and maintain the following certifications within 30 days of hire date via YMCA, American Red Cross, American Heart Association and American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI):
    1. First Aid/CPR /AED (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
12. Requisite Redwoods Online Training Modules (completed prior to start date and repeated annually).

1. Must have the physical, visual and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
2. Perform related physical skills including: bending, lifting, squatting, reaching, standing, walking.
3. Must be willing to work nontraditional hours.
4. Lifting heavy boxes, containers of food, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
5. Standing for extended periods of time.
6. Extended exposure to kitchen heat and humidity, and handling hot pots and pans.
7. Safe handling of kitchen equipment, including sharp knives, etc.

Salary : $12 - $15
