The YMCA of Upper Palmetto seeks a qualified Aquatic Program Manager to oversee our waterfront programs at Camp Cherokee. As the main authority on aquatic activities, you will be responsible for designing a safe and engaging experience for campers and staff.

About the Role:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive aquatic program that addresses camper age differences.
• Lead and manage lifeguards and other camp staff, prioritizing their well-being and the safety of waterfront facilities and equipment.
• Collaborate with staff to create innovative aquatic classes and lesson plans.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and manage a safe and fun aquatic program.
2. Effectively evaluate swim levels of all campers and staff members.
3. Implement creative aquatic classes and assist staff members in writing lesson plans.
4. Provide an effective swim lesson class for campers with entry-level swim skills.
5. Focus on skill development for campers and staff involved in the waterfront program.
6. Train and supervise waterfront staff/counselor responsibilities.
7. Create lifeguard schedules during summer camp.
8. Organize lifeguard staff during field trips with aquatic facilities.
9. Manage waterfront staff evaluation process.
10. Conduct weekly in-service training for lifeguard staff members.
11. Maintain the physical equipment and facility at the waterfront area.
12. Assist lifeguards and counselors in the proper use of waterfront equipment.
13. Properly set up the waterfront prior to the arrival of participants.
14. Conduct daily equipment checks and file any program orders or maintenance needed.
