The YMCA of Upper Palmetto is seeking an experienced Waterfront Director to oversee our aquatic programs at Camp Cherokee. As the main authority on waterfront activities, you will be responsible for designing a safe and engaging experience for campers and staff.

The YMCA of Upper Palmetto is seeking an experienced Waterfront Director to oversee our aquatic programs at Camp Cherokee. As the main authority on waterfront activities, you will be responsible for designing a safe and engaging experience for campers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive waterfront program that addresses camper age differences.
- Lead and manage lifeguards and other camp staff, prioritizing their well-being and the safety of waterfront facilities and equipment.
- Collaborate with staff to create innovative aquatic classes and lesson plans.
- At least lifeguard certification (WSI, Waterfront preferred).
- 21 years of age or completion of at least two years of college.
- Certified in First Aid and CPR.
- Ability to attend pre-camp training, retreats, and opening training sessions.
- Leadership qualities and sound judgment.
- Good health, enthusiasm, individual maturity, moral character, team qualities, and communication skills.
- Interest in the development of children.
- Ability to endure hot temperatures, physical exertion, manual labor, behavioral conflicts, and walking, running, and swimming every day.
