What are the responsibilities and job description for the COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR position at YMCA of Tuscaloosa County, AL?
POSITION SUMMARY
In conjunction with the CEO, this position directs all aspects of sales, communications, and fundraising for all branches of YMCA of the Tuscaloosa YMCA including: sales, recruitment of new members, corporate membership, and spearheading community fundraising efforts through positioning the YMCA as a philanthropic organization in accordance with the Association Strategic Plan. Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Along with the CEO, Develops annual goals, objectives, and plans for member sales, communications, and fundraising for the YMCA of Tuscaloosa
- Develops, produces, and distributes, through all potential delivery platforms, all program and service information necessary to promote the YMCA of Tuscaloosa in accordance with the Strategic Plan
- Develops Monitors and administers assigned annual budget and maintains a positive fiscal position.
- Identifies and cultivates relationships with key community stakeholders for the purpose of program partnerships and delivery, financial development contributions, and public relations.
- Makes key in-person community presentations about the YMCA of Tuscaloosa
- Manages the YMCA website and all social media platforms
- Analyzes market, consumer and competitive information to support membership and program growth, new program and service development, financial and community development, and pricing structure
- Educate key stakeholders, volunteers, members, and the community about the charitable nature of the YMCA lead assigned areas of annual campaign
- Plan and Coordinate Special Events to promote YMCA programs and services

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience in management, sales, customer service, and public relations; strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; proficient computer knowledge. Previous sales and fundraising experience preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; professionalism in both attitude and appearance
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all socio-economic backgrounds
