Directs all maintenance, housekeeping, and improvement of operations of YMCA facilities and vehicles, including preventative maintenance. Supports the strategic direction while exemplifying the Y’s commitment to inclusion.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in facility management or a related field or equivalent.
  • Three or more years’ experience in facility management or closely related field.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, groundskeeping, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
  • Skills in supervision, budget management and project management.
  • Demonstrated professionalism in both attitude and appearance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer operation knowledge required
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR, First Aid and AED certifications.
  • CPO - “POOL”, and boiler certifications.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

Within 30 days of hire completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens, 3 modules from the Advancing Equity training series by YUSA.

Essential Functions

  • Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance through facility maintenance software.
  • Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems.
  • Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner.
  • Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids and recommend selection of contractors.
  • Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
  • Develops budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget.
  • Maintains records of income and expenditures.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs assigned staff and volunteers.
  • Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Participates with other members of management in the YMCA’s Annual Support Campaign.
  • Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
  • Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
  • Update’s facility plans periodically. Develop annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCA's strategic plan and community needs.
  • Member of the organization’s Safety Committee and board-sanctioned Facilities Committee.

Required Certifications

Preferred Qualifications:
