The Before/After School Site Director is responsible for all aspects of daily operation of a Berwick Area YMCA Before and After School program site. The position is responsible for the planning, implementation, and facilitation of program activities ensuring a safe, enriching, and high-quality program environment.

The Before/After School Site Director is responsible for all aspects of daily operation of a Berwick Area YMCA Before and After School program site. The position is responsible for the planning, implementation, and facilitation of program activities ensuring a safe, enriching, and high-quality program environment.
Qualifications
- Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law.
- At least 18 years of age.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred and may be required in accordance with state law depending upon level of education attained.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate
- Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with children, parents and the school district.
- Ensures the safety and engagement of all children iat the program site.
- Plans and implements daily, age-appropriate activities for elementary age children.
- Provide assistance with homework and encourage academic progress.
- Provides careful, attentive supervision, alert at all times.
- Serves as a positive role model, demonstrates professional behavior and understands the positive youth development approaches to the needs and development of youth.
- Facilitates a program environment that ipromotes positive play and welcomes children.
- Maintains the programs site, equipment and supplies. 8. Facilitates and maintains positive, on-going relationshps with all staakeholders including children, parents, the school district and the program director.
- Maintain accurate records as assigned and according to program requirements.
- Communicates regularly with parents; attends parent/family events as designated by the program director.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of YMCA mission, purpose and goals, childcare policies and YMCA standards; ensures the program meets the highest standards of excellence.
- Coordinates the schedule and activities of Assistant Group Supervisors and Aides.
