The Summerville Family YMCA is seeking an experienced Aquatics Director to join our Team.
Job Description
GENERAL FUNCTION: The position of Aquatics Director is a full time, exempt position with responsibilities for the welfare of program and facility members at both the indoor pool located at the Downtown YMCA Family Center and the outdoor pool located at the Oakbrook Family Center. Both pools offer a full range of Red Cross and YMCA of the USA swimming skills programs, as well as recreational swimming for Summerville Family YMCA members. Ensuring the mission of the YMCA is evident in all fiscal and program operations.
Qualifications
Direct and oversee YMCA competitive swim team with the Head Coach.
Coordinate swimmer registration and team communications.
Ensure compliance with YMCA Competitive Swimming guidelines and league requirements.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and athlete-centered team culture.
Work with the Head Coach to plan and coordinate swim meets.
Reconcile swim meet concession purchases and revenue.

- Bachelor degree from a 4-year college/university with at least 1 year of work related experience – or
- 2-year degree with at least 2 years of work related experience – or
- High School diploma with at least 4 years of work related experience
- YMCA Senior Director Certification (preferred)
- A strong knowledge of YMCA management policy and procedures
- Superior public relation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Positive human relation skills
- The ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner

- Responsible for the operations of all YMCA pools and aquatic programs
- Communicate and coordinate with the CPO for both indoor and outdoor pools.
- Sound understanding and working knowledge of swim lessons and swim team
- Help coordinate Flowertown Festival, Youth Triathlon, Healthy Kids Day, and all other Events
- Assists in Y fundraising activities which include but are not limited to Annual campaign and Swim Team fundraisers.
- Responsible for organizing and planning swim meets with the Head Coach.
- Administers all policies, plans, and procedures related to association plans
