Position Summary:

The Team Lead Assistant supports the daily operations of the Afterschool Program by assisting the Team Lead with student supervision, activity implementation, behavior management, and program organization. This position helps create a safe, engaging, and positive environment where students can learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships.

The Team Lead Assistant serves as a dependable support person who helps maintain structure, encourages student participation, and assists with communication between staff, students, and families.

Job Schedule (Days) Monday: Tuesday; Wednesday; Thurday

Job Schedule (Hours) 2:00pm - 6:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with supervising and engaging students
• Set up stations/activities and supplies for the day prior to students arriving
• Support the Team Lead with daily activities, transitions, and classroom management
• Help facilitate enrichment activities, games, homework assistance, and group projects
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for all students
• Reinforce program expectations and positive behavior strategies
• Assist with student attendance, snack distribution, and dismissal procedures
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and school personnel
• Help prepare materials for the next day
• Communicate concerns or incidents to the Team Lead promptly
• Assist during special events, field trips, and family engagement activities as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth development setting preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage groups of students in a positive and respectful manner
• Dependable, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must pass all required background checks and trainings
