Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee wellness programs and initiatives that meet the diverse needs of community members
- Lead and motivate fitness staff, including trainers and instructors, to deliver high-quality services
- Monitor program effectiveness and continuously seek opportunities for improvement
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages participation from individuals of all ages and backgrounds
- Manage wellness facility operations, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and proper maintenance
- Collaborate with other YMCA departments to promote community engagement
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fitness trends, certifications, and best practices
- Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information
- Provide staff leadership for annual fundraising campaign and other events as assigned
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule and oversee wellness and fitness floor staff and volunteers
- Create and manage department budget
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in health sciences, fitness, recreation, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience in fitness program management or wellness program development
- Certification in personal training, group fitness, or related areas (e.g., ACE, NASM, AFAA)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to motivate and inspire diverse populations
- Knowledge of safety standards and facility operations
- Passion for community service and promoting healthy lifestyles
