What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Fitness Instructor position at YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Group Fitness Instructor to lead engaging, inclusive, and safe classes for members of all fitness levels. If you're passionate about wellness, mindfulness, and helping others find balance, we'd love to have you on our team.
PAY RATE: $13.00/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Lead group yoga classes that promote flexibility, strength, relaxation, and mindfulness.
- Provide modifications and encouragement to meet varying participant needs and skill levels.
- Maintain a positive, motivating, and welcoming class environment.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by following YMCA and industry best practices.
- Keep attendance records and assist with promoting group exercise programs.
- Support YMCA's mission of healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
Qualifications
- Current group fitness certification required (Les Mills, Yoga, etc.)
- Prior experience teaching group fitness classes preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to connect with participants and foster an inclusive environment.
