POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on YMCA buildings, mechanical equipment and other property.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment.
- Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks; installs window blinds.
- Installs flooring of all types
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures including but not limited to toilets, sinks, and urinals.
- Installs electrical wiring and equipment; replace and repair lighting fixtures and ballast.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; interior and exterior painting
- Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good skill in the use of hand and power tools.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance related areas.
- Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy
- Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements as well as meet the Association’s policies on background screening

CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- CPR and First Aid Certifications required
- Annual Completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens Training
- Annual Completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class
- Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols
- Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor
