The Personal Trainer is responsible for developing personal exercise programs for YMCA members, providing individual or small group instruction, and helping members achieve their health and fitness goals in a safe, motivating environment aligned with the YMCA’s mission and core values.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct fitness assessments and develop individualized workout plans.

Provide personal and small group training sessions.

Monitor progress, modify programs as needed, and track member performance.

Educate clients on proper form, equipment use, and general fitness principles.

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor's in Exercise Science or related field preferred).

Current Personal Trainer Certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, ISSA).

CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (YMCA or nationally recognized).

Prior experience in personal training or health & wellness coaching preferred.

Strong communication, motivation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and demonstrating exercises.
