This role will oversee the operations of the Marysville Early Learning Center, set to open in Fall 2025!

Location: Marysville Early Learning Center, 6420 60th Dr NE, Marysville, WA 98270

 

Position Summary:

Directs the development and operation of the child care program in assigned location(s) meeting the needs of our diverse community. Fulfill responsibilities of child care positions when working in program ratio. Ensure a safe, positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes participant safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies, practices and procedures.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages, directs and coordinates the child care programs for assigned location(s)
  • Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities
  • Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed
  • Reviews and evaluates staff performance
  • Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals
  • Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position
  • Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected
  • Supports and budgets for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality
  • Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate
  • Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed
  • Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living
  • Develops and maintains relationships with state child care licensing agency, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs
  • Responsible for USDA and Early Achievers requirements
  • Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
  • Provides staff leadership for annual fund raising campaign and committees as assigned
  • Maintains proper records/department files
  • Organizes special events for parents and families
  • Assists in YMCA fund raising activities
  • Assists with Program Committee meetings
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information
  • Compiles program statistics
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program
  • Cleaning Company: Track progress, maintain communication about oversight with YMCA point person, assist in creation and/or approval of cleaning contract as it pertains to a state licensed child care environment. Coordinate bi-annual floor waxing and maintenance and monthly carpet cleaning.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Tracking inventory, ordering supplies for the building. Tracking maintenance concerns and reporting to YMCA point person and Apartment management for repairs. Ensure facility is maintained and cleaned appropriately each day. Including daily walk through of grounds
  • Overseeing the YMCA reserved parking spaces including communication with the apartment Management and authorizing towing of vehicles
  • Manage building security including checking out of keys, managing the keyless-entry point, video surveillance system including making recordings for state agencies and law enforcement as needed. Managing the alarm system – taking any calls about after hour alarms. Communicating with apartment management and local law enforcement
  • Give program tours and orientations to prospective community members
  • Manage waitlist of prospective families, manage enrollment and program entry. Manage electronic program records. Including collaborating with the child care billing department on account charges and changes
  • Transfer money from assigned location site to the YMCA branch
  • Oversight of credit card, food and supply ordering
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Four or more years’ related experience supervising staff and managing child care programs
  • Minimum age 21
  • Meet educational and experience qualifications established by Department of Child Youth and Families (DCYF).
  • Provide document of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, MMR Vaccination or Antibody, and portable background check

  • Experience working with individuals, families and communities of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Plan, organize, and implement high quality developmentally appropriate programming
  • Strong computer skills and experience with standard business software
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in second language desired
  • Knowledge of Early Achievers preferred.
  • Knowledge of USDA child care food program preferred.

The hiring range for this position is $77,968- $81,000

Physical Demands:

Lead and participate in a range of activities in indoor/outdoor settings. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. Staff may be required to move weights of approximately 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
