What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatics Coordinator - Camp Campbell position at YMCA of Silicon Valley?
The Aquatics Coordinator will assure the program quality and content of all programs running at camp. Assist with the aquatics program to ensure quality of the program. Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the program.

Assist with hiring and training aquatics staff; maintain employee schedules, certifications, and other administrative work.

Responsible for the implementation of Aquatics regulations, policies, employment practices for the organization

Oversee day-to-day aquatics operations ensuring they are high quality programs.

Assist in maintaining a clean pool and surrounding areas.

Communicate effectively with camp staff, program participants and guardians- daily greetings, communicating camper behavior both positive and negative, injuries along with providing documentation, confirming absences daily, and building overall rapport.

Ability to respond to emergencies

- Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to
act swiftly in an emergency situation. - Ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push, and pull.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds
- Adapt to frequently changing environment
Qualifications:

Previous experience in Aquatics or an Administrative role.

Ability to communicate effectively with staff, participants, and families

Available on weekends and evenings as needed.

Currently certified in CPR/AED and first aid, or be certified within 30 days of hire.

Experience working in multi-cultural communities is preferred.
