Position Summary
The Community Market Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Amazon x Bayview YMCA Free Community Market. This includes coordinating grocery orders, stocking, client intake, and ensuring the market runs smoothly in alignment with community needs. The role involves direct interaction with school staff, families, and community members, and requires a commitment to equity, inclusion, and responsive service.
Market Operations
- Order groceries and manage inventory
- Stock shelves and maintain store cleanliness
- Supervise market during operating hours
- Carry and stock grocery items (up to 25 lbs)
Client & Community Engagement
- Conduct new client intakes
- Communicate regularly with families
- Provide translation support as needed
- Attend school support meetings to align services with community needs
Program Support & Administration
- Log and report market visits and usage
- Participate in team meetings and trainings
- Collaborate with school leadership and YMCA staff

Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications

- Understanding of trauma-informed or equity-centered practices
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- School-based setting with regular interaction with students, families, and staff
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Requires standing, walking, and stocking shelves during market hours

Salary Description
