Position: Youth Sports Lead
Wage: $18.24 to $18.69 per hour (Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range)
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
Location: Tom Taylor Family YMCA, Gig Harbor, WA
As a Youth Sports Lead, you will be responsible for supervision, leadership, and motivation for participants in all youth sports programming under the supervision of the Program Director, ensuring a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Qualifications:
- You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- You are a high school graduate or equivalent.
- You have one year or more of related experience.
- You are able to officiate games according to the rules of the sport(s).
- You have knowledge and skills in various sports activities and related equipment, and the ability to instruct participants in techniques.
- You have a general understanding of specific sport(s) and the rules or display a willingness to learn.
- You have a positive attitude and are able to demonstrate a friendly, courteous and professional manner while working with members, parents and staff.
- Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
- Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, lead and participate in youth sports program activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
- You will prepare lessons and practice plans.
- You will assist and support under the direction of the Program Director
- Assist in recruiting and leading volunteers to assist with programming support
