The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Business Development Representative to join our team.

Join our dynamic Business Development Team at the YMCA as a Business Development Representative, where you’ll play a key role in strengthening partnerships and supporting our mission. In this role, you’ll provide exceptional administrative, customer service, and operational support while managing corporate and group accounts through our customer relationship management system. You’ll handle corporate inquiries with professionalism and care, resolve issues efficiently, maintain accurate records, and help ensure timely payment and reporting. Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting with new partnership opportunities and maintaining an accurate list of existing corporate partners.
- Respond to corporate account updates in a timely and professional manner. Manage account communications regarding membership status changes. Contact appropriate personnel when necessary and notify the director of unusual situations. Courteously handle complaints and escalate when appropriate.
- Demonstrate full competency in Salesforce to include proper completion of tasks, including but not limited to membership enrollment, account updates, cancellation processing, program registration, account mergers, duplicate removal, reporting, refund investigation and approval, and account balance removals.
- Foster a positive brand image with staff, members, and guests while seeking the best outcome and interests of the YMCA.
- Provide excellent service to staff, members, guests, and spectators over the phone, through email, or other forms of communication, contributing to member retention.
- Ability to effectively explain the benefits and expenses related to YMCA memberships and programs.
- Encourage member involvement in programs and services based on the members' expressed interest.
- Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks, and supporting center events.
- Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in customer service, database management systems, public relations, or non-profit administration.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive in responding to account inquiries.
- Positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations.
- Demonstration of the ability to lead a project and collaborate with others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Teams, Zoom, and Salesforce.
- Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).

- Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
Wage: $21.81 to $23.48 per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
Location: YMCA Association Office, Tacoma, WA
