The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, intentional, and service-oriented individual for our Membership Program Director role.
This Membership Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the Membership Department and for the day-to-day membership operations at Huntington Beach YMCA. We are looking for a director that will help to inspire staff and members by fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence. This position is instrumental in building strong systems, developing leaders, and creating a welcoming, safe, and mission-driven environment where staff and members feel supported through change.
Location: Huntington Beach
Purpose and Impact:
- Provide Financial Leadership:
- Ensure the financial health of the department by leading budgeting, forecasting, revenue oversight, and expense control while maintaining effective financial and inventory systems.
- Drive Program and Marketing Development:
- Advance program quality and collaborating with the Marketing Department on collateral, brand consistency, and growth strategies. Leads an annual campaign team to meet volunteer and financial goals and supports branch-wide fundraising events.
- Lead and Develop Staff:
- Build a high-performing team by hiring, training, supervising, and supporting staff through clear expectations, regular communication, and ongoing development.
- Ensure Safe, High-Quality Operations and Compliance:
- Ensures compliance with all established policies, procedures, and standards related to health, safety, and risk management by exercising independent judgment beyond routine application of procedures. Conducts risk assessments, corrects deficiencies, and reports incidents promptly. Meets program quality expectations as measured through surveys, observations, and audits.
- Advance Strategy and Community Engagement
- Lead strategic and operational planning efforts, monitor progress toward goals, and represent the YMCA through active community involvement and collaboration across the Association.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Education & Certification:
- 4-year college degree in related field; 6 years of related operational experience may offset the degree requirement.
- First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).
- Experience & Skills:
- 3 years minimum of related experience and supervisory experience required.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Experience as Senior Program Director or Program Director of one or more departments is preferred.

Education & Certification:
4-year college degree in related field or 6 years experience may offset the degree requirement. First Aid and CPR certifications required within the first 60 days of employment.
Experience & Background:
Must be 21 years of age. 3 years of related experience and supervision required (in addition to the education off-set). Additional years of experience may offset some of the educational requirement. Experience working with diverse populations.

Salary : $70,304 - $85,068
