As an Aquatics Program Lead, you will help advance our mission by promoting water safety, healthy activity, and a welcoming environment for all members.
Location: Pomona Area (Ganesha Park Pool & Washington Park Swim Center)
Work Schedule: This is a seasonal position that runs from May to August. Available shifts are within the hours listed below:
- Wednesday, & Friday 6:00pm - 8:00pm
- Tuesday - Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm; 1:00pm - 5:00pm
- Saturday & Sunday 1:00-5:00pm
Purpose and Impact:
- Model Leadership:
- Welcome and support swimmers and families, ensuring every interaction reflects the Y’s values and inclusive spirit. Guide and support aquatics staff, uphold YMCA standards, and help create a team culture where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.
- Prioritize Safety:
- Maintain safety standards, assist with safety drills, and help keep the pool environment compliant and ready for participants.
- Strengthen Community Connections:
- Build relationships with members, families, and staff to create a connected, encouraging aquatics community.
- Deliver High Quality Programs:
- Support the organization, scheduling, and implementation of aquatics programs—including lessons, classes, and offerings—to ensure smooth, consistent experiences for all members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Age: 18 years old.
- Education & Certification:
- CPO or Lifeguard Trainer certifications preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).
- Experience & Skills:
- 1 year of aquatics experience required.
- Supervisory experience highly preferred.
- Excellent organization, communication, and planning skills.
