We are seeking an energetic and passionate School Age Child Care Program Director to lead our youth programs with enthusiasm and expertise. This pivotal role involves managing daily operations, supervising staff, and creating a safe, engaging environment for children in our care. Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the school age childcare program, ensuring compliance with safety standards and licensing requirements
- Lead, train, and supervise staff members to deliver high-quality youth programming and maintain excellent child supervision
- Develop engaging curriculum and activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and positive behavior management
- Ensure all staff are trained in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and first aid protocols to guarantee safety at all times
- Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and community partners to support youth development initiatives
- Monitor program budgets, supplies, and facility maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the program
- Promote outdoor work experiences and youth group activity facilitation to enrich children’s learning environments
Requirements
- Candidate must meet the New York State OCFS Director qualification requirements under 18 NYCRR §418-1.13. One qualifying pathway includes a Bachelor's degree with at least 12 credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field.
- A New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential, along with two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years of age, including at least one year of supervisory experience in a child care program or related field.
- A School-Age Child Care Credential or another OCFS-recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period, along with two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years of age, including at least one year of supervisory experience in a child care program or related field.
- Two years of college with at least 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field, along with two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years of age, including at least one year of supervisory experience in a child care program or related field.
