Travel Camp Specialist - Drive, Explore, Inspire!
The YMCA is looking for an energetic and responsible Travel Camp Specialist to join our team immediately for the summer season, running through August 15th! If you're passionate about working with children, love planning exciting activities, and have a clean driving record, this could be the perfect fit for you.
This is a full-time, seasonal position offering 40 hours a week, typically 8 hours a day. While you'll be driving a 15-person bus to local destinations, the majority of your time will be spent actively engaging with campers aged 7-10 in a variety of summer activities, crafts, and games.
What You'll Do:
As a Travel Camp Specialist, you will:
- Safely operate a 15-person passenger bus to transport children to and from various local activity locations.
- Conduct a daily bus maintenance walkthrough, which includes checking tires, under the hood (fluids, belts, etc.), mirrors, and recording mileage. (Training will be provided for this!).
- Maintain accurate daily record-keeping of the bus, including mileage and any noted maintenance items.
- Maintain accurate attendance records for children entering and exiting the bus.
- Plan and lead engaging activities and crafts for groups of 7-10 year olds.
- Actively supervise and participate in all camp activities, fostering a fun and safe environment.
- Embody and uphold the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Who We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who:
- Is at least 22 years of age.
- Has a clean driving record.
- Can lift at least 50 pounds.
- Possesses high energy and a passion for working with children.
- Is available to work full-time throughout the summer until August 15th.
