We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Golf Professional to manage all golf-related functions on behalf of the YMCA of Lansing. As a Golf Professional, and under the direction of our Association Sports Director, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, instruction, and assistance to golfers of all skill levels. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct golf lessons and clinics for individuals and groups of all ages.
- Assist with organizing and running golf tournaments and events.
- Manage all golf programs, leagues, and special golfing events for the YMCA of Lansing, including registration, payment, promotion, and execution.
- Ensure the golf equipment and area is properly maintained and ready for play.
- Enforce rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all players.
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Golf instruction certification from a nationally-accredited organization.
- One year prior experience instructing golf for all ages and abilities.
- Strong knowledge of golf techniques, rules, and etiquette.
- Knowledge of golf coaching, teaching, and management.
- Ability to accept supervision, guidance, and constructive feedback.
- Outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic personality.
- Must have strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Promote and represent the mission and core values of the YMCA.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
- Completion of YMCA trainings within specified timeframe.
Salary and Schedule:
- $22-$25 per/hour, depending on experience.
- Varied, flexible, part-time schedule that will include weekends and evenings; maximum of 28 hours per week.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, speak, hear, and have visual acuity. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
