Camp Facilities Worker

Overview
The Camp Facilities Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of camp facilities. This position involves a variety of tasks that ensure the camp environment is welcoming and well-kept for all campers and staff. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set, including mechanical knowledge and customer service abilities, to effectively support the camp's operational needs.

Responsibilities

• 1. Ensure the camp is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned areas and equipment. All facility and grounds custodial duties as outlined by the Associate Executive Director.
• Help prepare the camp grounds by deposing of debri, working on structural projects, and minor landscaping.
• Completes custodial duties in a conscientious, timely manner, within the allotted time scheduled by supervisor.
• Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.
• Advises management on custodial issues and projects as requested.
• Ensures that all custodial equipment is maintained and properly operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA. Report and record all needed repairs or assist in repairs if directed.
• Ensure YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Complete all required YMCA trainings within the time allotted.
• Adheres to YMCA dress code.
• Other duties as assigned

Experience

• Minimum age of 18 years
• High School Diploma or GED
• Six months or more experience in a custodial or closely related field
• Be available to work mornings, afternoons, or weekends based on camp needs
• Working knowledge of custodial-related areas including but not limited to cleaning methods and equipment
• Outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic personality
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
• Must complete all required YMCA trainings in the expected timeframe

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
