YMCA Camp Carter is a beautiful 360-acre year-round summer camp located right in the heart of Fort Worth, TX. At camp, we offer 11 weeks of care that runs from Tuesday, May 26th through Friday, August 7th with an exciting variety of camp options to please every kind of camper at every age! About The Role
As a Housekeeping Staff member at YMCA Camp Carter, you’ll play a key behind-the-scenes role in creating a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment for campers, families, and retreat guests. Whether preparing cabins for an incoming group or refreshing common spaces during a busy program day, your work helps ensure every guest has a positive and memorable camp experience.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety, and wants to be part of a mission-driven team supporting youth development.
What You’ll Do
Create Clean & Welcoming Spaces
Clean and sanitize cabins, restrooms, program areas, offices, and common spaces to YMCA health and safety standards.
Support Camp Turnovers
Assist with deep cleaning and room resets between camp sessions, retreats, and special events.
Stock & Maintain Supplies
Restock paper goods, soaps, and cleaning materials to keep facilities guest-ready.
Laundry Support
Wash, dry, and fold linens and other camp materials as needed.
Ensure Safety & Quality
Follow proper cleaning procedures, infection-control practices, and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Collaborate & Pitch In
Work alongside camp operations and program staff to meet day-to-day and seasonal needs.
Schedule
$12–$13/hour, based on experience

Schedule
- Weekday and weekend shifts based on camp activity
- Flexible hours with increased availability during summer camp and retreat seasons
- Daytime shifts most common; occasional early morning or evening support
- Age: 18
- Education: No formal degree required
- Training: YMCA safety and procedural training provided
- Skills: Attention to detail, reliability, time management, and teamwork
- Physical: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., stand for long periods, bend, and perform repetitive tasks
- Experience: Housekeeping, custodial, or hospitality experience helpful—but not required. We’ll train the right person!
