- Maintain accurate transportation logs and documentation
- Follow all YMCA policies and Colorado transportation regulations

What We’re Looking For
- Valid Colorado driver’s license (CDL and DOT with passenger endorsement required)
- Clean driving record
- Experience driving youth groups preferred
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Calm, professional demeanor
- Ability to pass required background checks for licensed childcare

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Manager, OST, the Bus Driver will provide safe transportation to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive and positive atmosphere. Bus Drivers are responsible for conducting themselves in an appropriate manner, setting an example for children, parents and co-workers by reflecting the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and innovation in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures and all local, state, and federal traffic laws
- Upkeep cleanliness, and maintenance of the vehicles. Completes thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and record all information. Cleans out bus each day
- Records gas level, vehicle inspections, mileage, maintenance, and accidents daily and on designated forms
- Takes attendance and ensures all passengers are accounted for prior to and after each trip
- Always promotes safety. Responsible for the safety & well-being of all passengers
- Keeps first aid supplies fully stocked
- Ensures bus rules are announced and followed
- Utilizes vehicles for YMCA use only
- Develop friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children
- Communicate regularly with other staff members and supervisor
- Follow and enforce all YMCA procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures and membership policies. Carry out emergency plans as necessary
- Dress in appropriate attire based on the dress code with nametag
- Attend staff meetings and remain current on all mandatory training

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Employees will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger to handle or feel objects, tools, controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, talk, hear and smell
- Occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions, outdoor weather, fumes or airborne particles
- Be able to lift 45 pounds
- Specific vision abilities are required including accurate sight up close, distant, peripheral and focus
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate to high
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 21 years old
- Possess appropriate Colorado class driver’s license.
- Possess current CPR and First Aid certifications or attain within 30 days of hiring
- Must have and maintain a qualifying motor vehicle record (MVR), reviewed annually during employment.
- Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus)
