Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the seamless operation of our facilities and manufacturing processes. The Maintenance Tech is responsible for assisting the Branch Executive Director with the daily operations of facility management. The goal of this position is to maintain the buildings, grounds, and equipment in the best possible condition. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced environment. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing equipment and infrastructure to support continuous production and facility safety.
Duties
- Maintain facility work orders and maintenance projects assigned by the Branch Executive Director.
- Performs all aspects of building, property, and equipment maintenance, including preventative, corrective, deferred, improvements, and emergency maintenance.
- Maintains the buildings, grounds, and mechanical systems in the best possible conditions.
- Surveys buildings and repairs mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
- Reports and fixes potential safety hazards to avoid injuries. Applies preventative measures to reduce the risk of future problems.
- Reports any problems to the Branch Executive Director when they are discovered.
- Works with the Branch Executive Director to ensure the best possible communication, including up-to-date information on the facility, grounds, and mechanical systems of the branch.
- Possesses the ability to work independently, is self-motivated, willing to step in and help out wherever necessary, and handles multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Maintains the maintenance shop and utility rooms in an orderly fashion and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintains an accurate inventory control of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Has the ability and willingness to take direction and follow through as directed.
- Conducts general testing and upkeep procedures.
- Maintains accurate records as instructed.
- Assists in set up, clean up, and working at meetings and events.
- Assists in custodial duties, ensuring the facility is attractive and clean. Assists in laundry duties.
- Perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks as directed.
- Assists and participates in YMCA fundraising and special events.
- Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Attends and participates in all employee meetings as required. Completes all trainings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Reliable transportation, clean & valid driver’s license, proof of insurance required.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Ability to report and record maintenance requests and keep accurate logs.
- Must attend all maintenance training and certification programs when offered and made available.
- Must be CPR/AED, First Aid Certified within 60 days of hire.
