Nature And Scope
The Facilities Painter and Maintenance Worker performs the improvement and maintenance operations of the designated facilities, including preventative maintenance. This position is primarily responsible for performing interior/exterior painting activities in addition to completing minor repairs for the facility, and other assigned areas.

Nature And Scope
The Facilities Painter and Maintenance Worker performs the improvement and maintenance operations of the designated facilities, including preventative maintenance. This position is primarily responsible for performing interior/exterior painting activities in addition to completing minor repairs for the facility, and other assigned areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, But Not Limited To)
- Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, touch-ups, and finishing work, to ensure YMCA facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming for members, participants, and staff.
- Perform light maintenance and minor repair tasks, including basic drywall repair, patching, caulking, hardware adjustments, replacement of light bulbs and lamps, and light plumbing and electrical work that does not require specialized tools or licensing.
- Maintain facility lighting systems by cleaning fixtures and ensuring proper operation.
- Work independently to complete assigned responsibilities while effectively communicating maintenance needs, safety concerns, or equipment issues to supervisors and YMCA staff.
- Safely operate, use, and maintain painting and light maintenance tools and equipment, including ladders, scaffolding, and lifts, in accordance with YMCA policies and safety standards.
- Support facility improvement initiatives and participate in preventative maintenance programs for facility equipment and systems.
- Accurately document and organize maintenance and repair activities to ensure accountability, compliance, and continuity of service.
- Transport tools, materials, and supplies between work areas and YMCA locations as required.
- Maintain working knowledge of and adhere to all applicable OSHA regulations, YMCA policies, procedures, and safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility by maintaining a professional presence and working cooperatively with members, staff, and contractors.
- Perform all other duties as assigned in support of YMCA operations and mission advancement.
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- 1 year of relevant experience preferred
- Possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record in accordance with the association’s driving standards
- Extensive knowledge of painting techniques and finishing, intermediate level of knowledge in facility/ maintenance operations
- Have the ability and knowledge to use tools and equipment related to painting and light maintenance work
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties
- Ability to work nights and weekends
