Position Summary
We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and creative Toddler Music Teacher to lead engaging music classes for children ages 1–4 and their caregivers. The ideal candidate has a passion for early childhood development, enjoys making music fun, and creates a nurturing, energetic class environment where toddlers can explore sound, rhythm, and movement.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate music classes for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Incorporate singing, instruments, rhythm, movement, and creative play.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for children and families.
- Communicate with parents/caregivers to encourage participation and highlight class goals.
- Ensure safety and supervision of all participants.
- Set up and clean up classroom space and equipment.
- Represent the YMCA’s mission and values at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children (ages 1–4) in music, early childhood education, or related fields.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Ability to sing and play simple instruments (e.g., guitar, ukulele, piano, drums, or percussion).
- Creative, energetic, and patient with excellent communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Schedule & Compensation
- Classes typically run weekday or weekend mornings
- Part-time position, 1-3 hours per week.
- Compensation: $22–$30 per hour, based on experience.
