Description

YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South Are you passionate about water safety and helping others? Join our team at the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South as a Lifeguard and make a real difference in our community! We're seeking alert, responsible individuals to ensure the safety and positive experience of our members.

What You'll Do

• Ensure the safety of all pool users through constant, vigilant surveillance
• Build positive relationships with members and create a welcoming environment
• Respond to emergencies quickly and professionally
• Maintain pool and facility cleanliness
• Assist with swim programs and special events
• Help maintain our high standards for water quality and safety
  
  

What You'll Need

• Must be at least 15 years old
• Strong swimming abilities and physical stamina
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification class provided by the YMCA
• Excellent attention to detail and alertness
• Great communication and customer service skills
• Professional attitude and teamwork

Hours: We're open seven days a week-Various shifts available within these hours.

• Monday – Friday: 5:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Sunday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  
  

Physical Requirements-Position Requires The Ability To

• Maintain constant vigilance and alertness
• Perform water rescues when necessary
• Hear distress signals and observe entire pool area
• Stand or sit for extended periods
• Lift and move pool equipment
