Wellness Floor Attendant Job Description
Job Title: Wellness Floor Attendant Reports to: Operations Director & Program Manager
Position summary:
The Wellness Floor Attendant is responsible for creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for all members and guests. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships to support member retention, ensuring proper use and cleanliness of fitness equipment, and providing excellent customer service. The attendant serves as a visible and approachable presence on the wellness floor, assisting members with questions, promoting programs, and upholding YMCA standards.
Essential functions:
- Build positive relationships with members, prospective members, program participants, volunteers, and staff to support membership growth and retention. Engage members in a friendly and professional manner, offering assistance, answering questions, and addressing concerns promptly.
- Monitor the wellness floor to ensure equipment is used safely and properly, and that cleanliness and organizational standards are consistently maintained.
- Perform member and guest service functions, including but not limited to, providing facility access, assisting with membership and program sales, and completing data entry tasks accurately.
- Foster a sense of community by helping members connect with one another and with YMCA programs and services. Provide accurate and enthusiastic information about programs, services, events, and volunteer opportunities.
- Support a clean, safe, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 16 years old or older
- Integrity and ability to work independently with attention to detail required, demonstrated leadership, and dependability.
- Morning, Afternoon, and Evening shifts including weekends availability.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Understanding of basic workout equipment and body mechanics preferred but not required.
- A background in the fitness industry is preferred but not required.
