Early Childhood Site Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Early Childhood Site Director is responsible for program development and implementation, supervision of children and working as a team in an early childhood setting. This position is responsible for ensuring children’s social, physical, spiritual and mental development in a wraparound care program at a local early childhood learning school.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain records as required by the YMCA and NYS OCFS licensing 
• Purchase program supplies
• Supervise, schedule, train and regularly evaluate staff
• Fill staff vacancies in conjunction with Regional Childcare Director following established YMCA policies
• Maintain all employees licensing files and assure that they are completed
• Provide needed feedback to staff regarding performance
• Responsible for planning, conducting and supervising a creative and stimulating program that is age-appropriate for Pre-school children. Plans daily and monthly activities and provides guidance to staff in doing the same
• Plan regular scheduled special events for families of participants (i.e., Open House, Holiday Program, etc.)
• Provide for the health and safety of children and staff. Develop and train other staff in emergency procedures
• Develop discipline procedures and implement as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their children
• Meet regularly with Regional Childcare Director, providing updates on program
• Responsible for maintaining licensing files to include emergency disaster plans, childcare roster, administrative designations and other licensing requirements
• Ensure that all areas, equipment and supplies are maintained in an orderly and safe manner
• Ensure proper documentation and follow through with NYS OCFS/Family of Woodstock as required
• Communicate with School Leadership

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Meet all qualifications required by New York State OCFS to serve as an Early Childhood Site Director.
   Minimum three years of progressively responsible leadership experience managing licensed childcare programs.
• YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
• Minimum age of 25.
• Within 30 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention, Working with Program Volunteers, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training.
• Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program-specific training.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Salary : $62,000 - $64,500
