Job Title:Two's Program Assistant (Full-Time), Lealman YMCA Preschool Academy
Description: In this role, you'll help create a fun, engaging, and safe environment where children can grow and learn while upholding the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Duties:
- Help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children
- Support lead teachers with daily activities and classroom supervision
- Foster the YMCA's core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring
- Assist with implementing curriculum and guiding structured and free play activities
- Promote positive behavior and help maintain classroom routines
- Attend to children's basic needs including meals, rest, and outdoor play
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and family engagement events
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CDA credential or equivalent preferred
- Completion of DCF MODS (Introductory Child Care Training, Parts 1 & 2)
- 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting
- Able to work with infants, toddlers, and young children both indoors and outdoors
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, hear, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Must be comfortable participating in activities and engaging physically with children
- Vision requirements include close/distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Pass a 10-panel drug screen.
- Clear a Level 2 background check*
Pay & Perks: Full-time, $14.75 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience. Schedule is Monday through Friday.
