Job Title: Swim Lesson Instructor, Jim & Heather Gills Branch YMCA
Description: The Y is the nation's largest provider of swim lessons to increase skill and safety in and around water. This position provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes. Part-time position instructing students in swimming and/or exercise fundamentals. Ensures proper techniques and use of equipment while providing a safe environment for learning. We teach classes ranging from Parent/Child through Adult.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and swim lesson instructor certifications are a plus. We also conduct in-house training.
- Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
- Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques, to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.
- Must be available to work flexible hours and be comfortable working with all ages and skill levels.
- Pass a 10-panel drug screen
- Clear a Level 2 background check*
Pay & Perks: Part-time, $15.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience. Free YMCA membership and discount for household family members.
