Requirements
Qualifications

· A master’s degree in counseling, psychology or social work OR currently enrolled in an MA program.
· Current registration with the BBS.
· At least 1 year post graduate school, working with youth and their families
· Knowledge of legal and ethical standards of practice, including child abuse reporting laws.
· Bilingual in Spanish


Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

· Experience in crisis management, collaboration, school services and provision of training

Summary
Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, this position provides therapy in alignment with legal and ethical standards established by the profession and the YMCA of San Francisco’s mission. This clinic-based role manages a caseload of clients both in person and virtually, delivering assessments, individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, and case management.

Job Responsibilities

Clinical Services & Client Support

· Provide individual, family, and group counseling; crisis intervention; case management and referrals for all clinic and school-based clients.

· Facilitate interventions and referrals to service providers.

· Provide appropriate referral resources to families and clients.

· Carry a clinical caseload that aligns with the number of hours in the clinic site.

Clinical Supervision & Compliance

· Meet with clinical supervisors for programmatic and clinical supervision.

· Maintain high-quality, HIPAA-compliant clinical charting and records using an electronic health care records system.

· Timely service reporting.

Administrative & Communication Responsibilities

· Check email daily and respond within 24 business hours.

· Attending staff meetings and training as required.

· Complete all mandatory ADP LMS safety training and Y-USA e-Learning before the first shift in the facility.

· Represent the YMCA and the Youth Service Bureau department in the community.

Organizational Policies & Leadership

· Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting, and risk management.

· Demonstrate the Character Counts values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility in all interactions.

· Develop competencies in Cause-Driven Leadership, including advancing the mission, building relationships, leading operations, and developing & inspiring others.

Other Responsibilities

· Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position operates in a dynamic clinical and school-based environment, requiring both in-person and virtual interactions. It involves regular client engagement, collaboration with colleagues, and participation in meetings and training sessions. The role demands strong organizational skills to manage documentation, maintain compliance with confidentiality standards, and respond to communication in a timely manner. Physical requirements may include prolonged periods of sitting, computer work, and occasional travel for community outreach and professional development. The ability to navigate high-pressure situations with professionalism and sound judgment is essential, particularly when providing crisis intervention and support services. Maintaining a commitment to safety, ethical standards, and organizational policies is key to ensuring a positive and effective work environment.

Salary Description

The Bilingual Mental Health Clinician position offers a competitive hourly rate of $34.50 to $39.50 Per Hour, based on qualifications, experience, benchmark standards, and is in accordance with grant funding requirements.
