Hourly rate: $17.50/hour and a free YMCA membership
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
This is a seasonal position
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Program Director, the Billing and Registration Specialist, will serve as clerical registration and billing support for youth programs including summer day camp. The responsibilities include but not limited to processing payments, billing, mailings, data entry, and collections. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supports the Program Director in entering registrations and processing payments for all youth programs.
- Answer phones, provide prompt and professional customer service, respond to inquires about child care programming.
- Ensures proper billings cycles are set and payments are processed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Proactively collect payments on past due accounts up to and including contacting members to obtain payments.
- Requires ongoing contact with members and program participants to establish and maintain engaging relationships.
- Enter data in computer systems accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with DHS protocol: application management, time and attendance.
- Attend all required training and meetings.
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
· Must be a highly organized, professional self-starter with strong administrative skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
· Possess the ability to learn new software applications.
· Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
· Must be able to work well in situations that require making phone calls for collecting past due balances, meeting tight deadlines and dealing with members.
· Basic knowledge of accounts payable/receivables preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to sit or stand for extended durations
· Must be able to bend and stoop frequently
· Must be able to lift at least fifteen pounds
