The Tuckahoe YMCA is currently seeking part time instructors to help with our Gymnastics & Ninja Warrior programs! This part time position starts at $14.00 per hour. Must be available Monday-Thursday late afternoons & evening AND Saturday mornings. Please list your availability when applying.
DUTIES of a Recreation Instructor
Recreation instructors will help develop and implement a safe and enjoyable gymnastics program. Recreation instructors should be available to work weekday evenings and weekends to help facilitate practices, games and clinics. Ideal instructors will be creating lesson plans for youth ages 5-11, purchasing necessary materials & providing leadership to other staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS Of a Recreation Instructor
Must have basic Gymnastics & Ninja Warrior knowledge and experience. Ability to instruct and spot school age children in basic gymnastics skills. Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures. Gymnastics instructors must have the visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation. First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are desired upon hire but not required. Gymnastics instructors should have experience in working with children and with gymnastics and/or movement basics. The incumbent must be willing to learn and demonstrate at all times appropriate spotting and teaching techniques.
