Under the supervision and support the Camp Director, the Program Director will be responsible for program quality and coordination of our Summer Camp and Shoulder Season Programs. With direct supervision of staff, the Program Director will ensure that the Camp Fuller program is intentional, well thought out, and achieves goals of growth and skill building. This position requires a commitment to the overnight summer camp lifestyle from May to October and will be a combination of office work and direct program delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Year Round Responsibilities
- Plan and Execute staff hiring and training with support of Camp Director / Executive Director
- Be the program contact for Rental Groups looking to use camp in the shoulder and summer season. This includes but is not limited to
ii. Coordinate all equipment needed for a successful experience.
- Work as part of the Year-Round Camp Fuller Staff for intentional planning and executive of all Camp Fuller initiatives
- Be a role model for all campers and staff members by demonstrating good leadership, strong ethical values, and following through on tasks and promises
- Run and update the camp social media pages by capturing content during the camp day.
- Uphold all policies and procedures of YMCA Camp Fuller including but not limited to Risk Management, Supervision, Child Protection, and Safety Standards.
- Summer Preparation and In Summer Season Responsibilities
- Plan and Execute staff hiring and training with support of Camp Director / Executive Director
- Lead program operations, quality assurance, and other duties while daily program is happening
- Supervise all summer program heads, which includes performing daily check-ins with all program heads at program areas and being available to them for coaching, a helping hand, and direction
- Guide staff in coordinating weekend summer program offering based on the ability of staff that are on
- Be a member of the larger Camp Fuller Leadership Team and support in projects and initiatives that are camp wide
- Primarily oversee program specialty activity periods based on skills, interests, and ability β focusing around curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation of programs
- Ensure all program areas are in compliance with State and American Camping Association requirements and regulations
QUALIFICATIONS:

- A desire to have a positive impact on the life of the youth and other staff at camp
- Ability to lift 30 lbs or willingness to ask for help if not
- Ability to move around camp quickly enough to keep campers safe
- Strong comprehension and critical thinking skills to be able to respond to challenges and emergencies effectively
- Required to live on camp Memorial Day through Labor Day in camp provided, private housing (housing provided year round)
- Willingness to express challenges or struggles so they can be addressed by Camp Leadership
- Ability or willingness to learn to communicate staff improvement and feedback to counselors and program support staff members.

Salary : $48,500 - $50,000
