This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
We are seeking passionate and energetic Aquatics Group Fitness Instructors to lead water-based fitness classes. Instructors will motivate participants, ensure safety, and deliver fun, engaging workouts in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead group fitness classes in the pool, including but not limited to water aerobics and aquatic strength training.
- Monitor participants' safety and provide guidance throughout each session.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Ensure equipment is set up and maintained for each class.
- Encourage and engage participants of all fitness levels.
Qualifications
- Must be at least age 18 years
- Current Aquatics Group Fitness Certification (e.g., AEA, YMCA, or equivalent).
- Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate and lead group exercise classes to a diverse group of participants
- First Aid, CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire date

- YMCA Child Abuse Prevention Online Training
- Blood borne Pathogen Online Training
- Notify Healthy Living Director within 60 days before First Aid, CPR/AED expiration date. The YMCA provides First Aid, CPR/AED recertification classes.
