POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversees assigned areas of a YMCA branch, which may include membership, marketing, programs, and/or facilities. Participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.

BRANCH SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

The Associate Executive Director of Expanded Learning will develop, implement, and manage branch operating plans to promote before and after school expanded learning programming ensuring alignment with YMCA goals, district requirements, and grant compliance. The Associate Executive Director is responsible for financial management that sustains the Y’s nonprofit business model while maximizing growth potential. Serve as a branch leader that values and supports the many facets of philanthropy as an essential component in achieving the Y’s mission.

1. Assist and provide direct leadership to all Expanded Learning programs, including ASES, ELO-P and other expanded learning program initiatives across sites under the direction of the Executive Director.

2. Ensure all programs meet YMCA, district, and grant compliance requirements, including attendance, staffing ratios, documentation and CRM systems.

3. Lead program directors, site managers, and other key program staff and ensure high quality programs and establish new program activities to maximize program value.

4. Assist with the development, management, and monitoring of the branch operating budget and meets or exceeds budget targets. Ensure program areas operate within budget.

5. Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and direct staff and volunteers as needed.

6. Support continuous improvement through staff coaching, site visits, and data-driven performance reviews. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

7. Provide quality oversight on branding, social media, and content throughout the branch.

8. Ensure that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures followed.

9. Serve in a leadership position in the Annual Support Campaign fundraiser and assists in YMCA fund raising activities and events.

10. Staff liaison to the Board of Managers.

11. Support expanded learning programs to ensure meeting and/or exceeding enrollment goals and new program opportunities.

12. Represent the Expanded Learning Branch in assigned program clusters.

13. Compile and track data for reports to drive branch goals. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation of the Expanded Learning Branch.

14. Work collaboratively with other branch leaders to align expanded learning initiatives with overall branch and association goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, business or a related field, or equivalent strongly preferred.

2. Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.

3. Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, and program development.

4. Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations.

5. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

6. YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred.

7. CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.

8. Clearance: Including Fingerprints and background clearance, with negative TB Test, health screening and negative drug test screening.

9. Complete all online required training(s).

WORK Conditions:

Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor facilities (e.g. kitchen and recreational sites); exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Noise level is usually moderate.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $73,395.00 - $102,932.00 per year
