POSITION SUMMARY :
The Race 4 Chase Coach will be responsible for all aspects of the program beginning in June and ending in August. The Coach will be responsible for the plans and implement all program activities that are relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consist with the YMCA core values.
Candidate must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and continuously follow and promote the YMCA philosophy. Candidate must be able to actively run, ride a bike, swim well, jump, and lift a minimum of 1 / 3 their own body weight.
USA Triathlon certified is a plus!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Race 4 Chase Head Coach is responsible and accountable for the programs and all related activities, development of new programs, and management of related staff
- Supervise all children in the program
- Supervision of program staff
- Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness
- Follows the YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies
- Be able to exercise proper judgment when dealing with a group of children and staff members
- Must be able to be open and receptive to constructive criticism when it is for the benefit of the program or the staff members growth and development
- Attend all planning meetings
- Participate in all planned activity areas including swimming
- Maintain highest safety standards at all times
- Be a positive role model for all Race 4 Chase participants
- Assist on Field trips
- Participate in all midsummer evaluations
- Schedule special guest speakers for participants
- Be responsible for all communication to the YMCA Aquatics Director any conflicts with parents or children
- Keep all areas used by Race 4 Chase programs clean and well maintained so it is suitable for staff, campers and families
- Perform all other duties as assigned
