POSITION SUMMARY:
The cheer instructor will plan, develop, and implement cheer program curriculum. This position requires face-to-face leadership in these programs and may involve early morning, evening, and weekend responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises and instructs cheer.
- Develops and leads weekly lessons to ages 4 years old - adult
- Prepares any additional materials needed for classes or camps
- Maintain records of student attendance and payments
- Provides handouts, sends letters or email, and other resources to students and or parents as necessary
- Provides outstanding member service
- Promotes programs in the community as outlined by supervisors
- Actively involved in student retention
- Conducts student evaluations and provides profession opportunities
Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association.
COMPENSATION
$20.80 - $25.70 ; Part-Time, Non-Exempt (up to 25 hours per week)

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
One year or more related experience in cheer programming and instruction; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
- State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
- Blood Borne Pathogen training
- CPR Certification required within the first 90 days
- First Aid Certification required within the first 90 days

TRAVEL:
0-5% of local travel within the state of Michigan; occasional out-of-state travel may be required for educational conferences or training.
