Responsibilities
The Whitley County Family YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and energetic part-time Sports Referees to join our team and ensure quality standards for YMCA youth sports programs.
- Serve: Maintain a playing environment that is safe and efficient; respond to emergencies when needed, and make responsible judgments with regard to participant and/or program area conduct.
- Care: Responsible for the conduct of the area and individual/game management and provide rule enforcement when needed.
- Lead: Keep accurate records of sports data and set up equipment and/or stores equipment according to YMCA established procedures.
Requirements
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have at least 2 years of high school or the equivalent.
- Additional certification, education, or experience as deemed necessary by the Sports director.
- Two seasons of experience in specific sport officiating or playing is preferred.
- Incumbent must have a schedule that allows for evening and weekend responsibilities
- Ability to relate to, welcome and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Salary: Part-time $11.85-$12.35 hourly
Hours Available: Saturday mornings-early afternoon
