Applicants must be available to work the following shifts:
Fridays: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Saturdays: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Sundays: 1/month 8a-1p &/or 1-5p
Monday Evenings: Availability required
Tuesday Evenings: Availability required
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing excellent services to YMCA members and other individuals at the Member Services Desk.

Essential Functions:
- Provides excellent member service.
- Performs membership sales, changes, cancellations, and all other member transactions, including program registration and other activities, in an efficient and accurate manner, that occur at the Member Service Desk.
- Follows Member Service Desk processes and systems.
- Conducts tours of the facility for prospective members and guests.
- Displays excellent telephone skills.
- Handles monetary transactions and appropriate reconciliation of these transactions.
- Builds relationships with members.
- Proactively solves problems.
- Performs routine copying and filing.
- Keeps up-to-date with member information as outlined in the member handbook.
- Follows appropriate safety guidelines.
- Communicates to direct supervisor any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up.
- Communicates any suggestions to improve member services.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED required.
- A 2-year degree or applicable experience is preferred.
- One year or more of related customer service experience required.
- The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, excellent verbal communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must have solid computer skills and be able to efficiently navigate multiple software systems while assisting members. Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude are essential for creating a welcoming experience for all who enter the YMCA.
