AM Aquatic Group Exercise Instructor - Clippard Family YMCA

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and instruct a variety of aquatic group exercise classes, including but not limited to water aerobics, aqua Zumba, and therapeutic aquatic workouts.
• Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and monitoring class activities.
• Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate different fitness levels and physical abilities.
• Engage and motivate participants to achieve their fitness goals and maintain regular attendance.
• Maintain a clean and organized pool area and equipment.
• Collaborate with YMCA staff to promote aquatic programs and support overall wellness initiatives.
• Stay current with aquatic fitness trends, certifications, and best practices.
  
  

Qualifications

• Current certification in Group Aquatic Exercise Instructor (e.g., AEA, ACE, or equivalent).
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
• Previous experience teaching aquatic group exercise classes preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire participants of diverse backgrounds and fitness levels.
• Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude.
