What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tennis Instructor - Baker YMCA position at YMCA OF FLORIDA'S FIRST COAST?
Position Summary:
Primary focus will be on growing our junior program, and an expanding role with adult programming. Compensation will be based on experience.
Essential Functions:
- Spearhead Junior Tennis Program and Beginner Tennis Program
- Organize and run Summer Tennis Camp
- Maintain regular communication with players and parents
- Teach group and private lessons
- Organize junior USTA teams and Playdays
- Running USTA and GranPrix tennis tournaments
- Ensures all First Coast YMCA standards and best practices are implemented and followed.
- Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations and child abuse prevention.
- Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
- Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation and cleanliness of facilities.
- Demonstrates compliance with YMCA Child Abuse Prevention and Abuse Risk Management policies.

Qualifications:
- Experience teaching Youth Tennis
- USPTA or USPTR certified
- Preferred playing level of 4.5
- Must be enthusiastic, positive, resourceful, adaptable, patient, and creative
- Must be able to perform job functions with minimal supervision
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must pass Level 2 Background Screening. Level 2 is a fingerprint check of state and federal criminal history information conducted through the Florida Department of law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). https://info.flclearinghouse.com
Physical Demands:
Communicate both orally and in writing. Perform all physical aspects of the position; including running, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25lbs.
